Arcana Coaching Workshops and Courses
We run an ever-developing variety of workshops and courses covering each of our main Coaching specialties, which can last from one day up to ten weekly sessions. Most courses have a limited number of places, and we are happy to add you to a waiting list for any fully booked course in case places become available.
Our two main programmes are our Discover and Get-A-Head series. You will find a list of descriptions, dates, venues and links to book below, but for up-to-the-minute information, please sign up for our free email newsletter.
Discover Your Inner Entrepreneur
Always wanted to start your own business? Have a passion you would like to turn into your profession? Or maybe you are doing it for someone else and you now want to do it for yourself?
Helping people to pursue their passion is where Arcana Business Coaching begins, and this one-day workshop is a great way to kick-off that process. During the day we will explore questions like:
What are your current strengths and skills?
Where are your gaps and how can you fill them?
What are your core motivations and values?
What does success or failure mean to you?
What is your vision?
How will your business idea help get you where you want to go?
What kind of planning do you need to do?
How can you find your potential customers?
How do you keep on top of the finances?
You do not need any previous business knowledge or skills to attend this course. Come as you are! The course usually lasts 6 hours, with a break for lunch.
Get-A-Head Start in Business
This ten-session course takes you through the business planning and start-up process in more detail, covering all the key areas you will need to think about before you get going. It is also suitable if you are already test trading or are pursuing your idea part-time. The topic areas covered include:
Why bother with business planning
Market research techniques
Identifying your customers
Creating a Marketing Plan
What are your Unique Selling Points and benefits
Using IT, e-commerce and the web
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats
How to price your goods or services
How to make financial forecasts
Basic tax and accounting
Raising finance
We recommend you do the one-day Discover Your Inner Entrepreneur workshop first if you are at a very early stage of developing your idea, but you can join this course without. Each session usually lasts 3 hours and courses generally run weekday evenings or Saturday mornings.
Feedback...
"I should like to thank you for the course you ran yesterday. Having attended many courses in my career, I have to say that this one was perhaps one of the best. You gave dignity back to us all who thought that we were no longer really valued, and made it possible for even the shyest person to become involved. For myself, I had no preconceptions, hoping the course would point out the shortcomings in my approach to start-up (it did) and making helpful suggestions for me to follow up. I came away strangely refreshed, and completely re-enthused – something that after no responses from potential clients after 30 days could have been undermining had I not expected it. Once again my most sincere thanks."
