Arcana Coaching for Performers -
Stay Out or Rehab!
Susan Boyle, Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty and countless others have all been there, but you don’t have to! A few weeks in a very expensive drying out or detoxing clinic is not some Right of Passage for aspiring performers, or an indication that you have somehow ‘made it’. Quite the reverse. It is most usually a cry for help or a powerful signal that it has all become too much.
Coaching can help you with:
Releasing creativity and passion
Developing talent and abilities
Dealing with stress
Improving relationships
Dealing with self-limiting beliefs
Dealing with ‘difficult’ people
Balancing life and career goals
Creative thinking and problem solving
Removing blocks or barriers within groups
Performers are often treated appallingly, in some cases until they get ‘big’ enough to then treat everyone else in the same way! Many have no idea what to expect when they set out or what will be expected of them once whatever dream contract or gig lands on the doormat. What seemed to be all about the music, part, or performance seems to turn overnight into being all about the media hype, interview or tour schedule.
Our experience in the creative process, performing and on the business side means we can be the independent and agenda-free voice that is often missing in the business of performance. We can start from first rehearsal through to opening night or world tour in helping you to stay true to your goals, look honestly at opportunities, improve communication and your relationships with those around you. A Coach is not a lawyer, solicitor or manager, but can be an invaluable support in helping you develop your creativity and career.
Show over ? What happens now?
One of the most neglected parts of a performers career – and more importantly, their life – is what happens when the touring ends, the band splits, the curtain falls and the lights go out. If every waking hour has been dedicated to what you have been doing, you may suddenly find yourself with a huge gap!
Using Arcana Performance Coaching at this time of huge adjustment can help you realise, appreciate and value your experience and everything you have done and help you find creative ways of using all you have in a new way – and hopefully becoming even more. It can give you a safe space in which to explore new possibilities, change old patterns and move into new and fulfilling arenas.
